X3

from IMDB:

Halle Berry had initially decided not to reprise her role as Storm for this film, citing lack of character development in the previous two installments and a tense relationship with director Bryan Singer. However, after Singer's departure and suffering a major box-office flop with Catwoman (2004), Berry agreed to return on the condition that her role be expanded. Consequently, in this film Storm serves as leader of the X-Men.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! NOT HER AS THE LEADER!!!!

Here's my main reservation: I'm almost positive that every storm fan will agree that Halle Berry was a total miscast. It's exasperating that they had two OBVIOUS actresses that would have been perfect for the role (Angela Basset is my first choice, Vivica A. Fox the second, and perhaps a more "offbeat" choice would be Sophie Okenedo) but they chose someone who bears virtually no physical resemblence to Storm whatsoever. Performance-wise I think she's done the best she can with it.

On Storm being the leader, however, I have to admit that I'm pleased as punch. She's among my favourite characters and it I felt that the first two films were a tad male-dominated action wise.

The film looks promising, and as for her being leader, its either her or Cyclops, and he was for the first two so i say try something new. As for Angela Basset funny you should say that my friend, as thats EXACTLY who was supposed to play her, till she was a) signed to another film at the time, and b) even worse wound up getting hurt filming it, and thus Hallie Berry stepped in as the storm all comic readers hate lol. i will say the struck gold on Wolvie, Professor X, Rouge, Cyclops, and Magneto, but thats just this x fans opinion.

they also wanted Iman to play storm, but she had just found out she was pregnant and wouldn't be able to do it. I think Iman would've been a good choice, she's just got this aura about her that's very regal, plus she could just use her natural accent.

Yep to all of the above. Although, I'm not convinced Ms. Berry has done the best she could with the role. In the first two films, I was left feeling like she hadn't even bothered to read an single issue of the comic. Course, that may be due to the character being poorly written in the films. Maybe X3 will be different. Whatever our gripes, I'm still excited for the film (with the exception of that spinning thing I saw in the trailers).

    ********SPOILERS (maybe)***********

I know that they have someone cast as Callisto in this movie which means she'll probably fight Storm to be the leader of the Morlocks which comes directly out of the comic which I'm excited about. I'm a little worried though because I'm pretty sure the Scott dies in the beginning (hence the funeral scene in the trailers) and I kinda skimmed the book at Barnes and Noble and it looks like Charles dies too.

Not completly sure though so take it with a grain of salt.

Well... we all know Scott and Charles have "died" in the books, so if they "die" in the film, it doesn't mean they won't be back for X4.

"X4". Is that wishful thinking? Can I run with it, and hope that X4 is a cross-over film with the X-Men & The Fantastic Four... maybe taking on Annihilus... or... dare I dream... Galactus?

According to executives at 20th Century Fox, this is to be the last X-Men film.

There have been rumours, however, of Wolverine and Magneto solo pictures- I'm honestly kind of sick of Wolvie but I think that a Magneto film could have tons of potential.

Well, with Wolverine you have the option of doing a movie that can be set at any point within the last 150 years or so. More than likely that will get screwed up in favor of a post-apocalyptic future (NOT Days of Future Past) and will suck.

I share your dream of a X4 my pal, so after the box office im hoping they see if done right you can make 100 of them. As for the rest Wolverine solo picture is a DEFINITE an hugh jackman is already signed on, Magneto's side pic is being written but no director yet, and the wonderful actor who plays him has yet to be signed on yet.

Anyone else playing Magneto besides Ian would be awful. He plays Magneto with such a flair for the dramatic.

Though I, too, greatly appreciate Sir Ian's performance, I think it a bit much to say "anyone else playing the part would be awful." That's just setting oneself up for disappointment.

I'm assuming that the funeral is for Jean, as everyone believes her dead- but the fact that both Beast and Moira McTaggart are at the funeral doesn't exactly add up, so we'll just have to see. Only a couple more days!

All for naught anyway -as good as the Sir is... they're bound to phuck up any spin off they do......

*sigh* haven't seen X3 yet - but can't say i really liked either previous...just TOO many points where it coulda been qool, and they ALMOST got it rite, but over all it just amounts to another failed Hollywood attempt to do a good superhero flick.........

Besides Halle just RUINS it for me everytime she's onscreen.......

        *sigh*

Don't get why any of Hollywood big flims need to be at Canned. I mean they said on BBC let's talk movies that DaVine Code is big failure as movie. I mean Hollywood films have lost there identies to marketing of movies. Perfect example of this MI: III. X3 just marketing tool for studios to turn profit and get hole. If Hollywood want to be on par with international cinema they have to get back to story. Look at all great franchises want make them so great story. I mean when summer comes that gets throught out of window for marketing to kids and profit for studios.

Could there be any big summer movie that be truly same as source material like Batman Begins and Lord Of The Rings trilogry? Maybe my gripet with American movie industrie is just not as original as small films or just written really badly. I do still like any good movie just like anybody else. We would ever see any original ideas from Hollywood instead of remakes from 80's TV shows to sequal of any movie that is succcess?

Latest script on that Magneto pic calls for the story of he an Xavier meeting, and what led to there becoming foe's. Now Stewart an Sir Ian could reprise their roles at the end, but it looks like the story will be like 80% there younger days so new actors will be needed, even if they bring pack Stewart and Sir Ian for small repriseals. Thats the latest. As for Wolvie, no script yet, but Jackman is already signed
