Okay....so I haven't read a comic book since the beginnig of house of M and I wanted to get back into it, but it's been so long I don't know where to start. So what has happened since house of M?? The Marvel web site doesn't seem to have been updated in a while (as far as x-men comic books are concerned anyway) so it has been of little help.

Re: What's been going on???
Fri, January 12, 2007 - 6:02 PMOH, honey. *sigh*
I'm not the best person to speak on this, cuz I kinda gave up on Marvel after the House of M debacle... but since I got here first:
Nothing worth risking the rent money on. Before the dust could settle from House of M, they started Civil War. Peter Parker revealed to the world that he is Spider-Man. That alone was enough for me to quit wasting my dosh. Really, I don't know what's going on. Apparently Thor has returned. Who knows. I no longer really care. I pick up Astonishing X-Men and Ultimate X-Men & Ultimates 2... and I have done that in about 3 months.

Re: What's been going on???
Mon, January 15, 2007 - 9:47 AMUncanny X-Men has a year-long story arc going called "Rise and Fall of the Shi'ar Empire" written by Ed Brubacker (sp?). So far it seems good, with mixes of the return of D'Ken, a powerless Xavier being tortured by the Shi'ar, Vulcan (the 3rd Summers brother), Warpath being played up like a badass, and some cool usage of a new X-Man called Darwin (whose power is to adapt to his environment). This story carried over from Brubacker's X-Men: Deadly Genesis mini series last year where Banshee was killed and the team sent in to rescue the original X-Men from Krakoa (NOT the All-New, All-Different X-Men!)...didn't survive. The current lineup on Uncanny is Nightcrawler, Havok, Polaris, Darwin, Warpath (with some Vibranium knives), Rachel Grey, and Xavier.
Adjectiveless X-Men went through one of the crappiest storylines I've ever read in comics where Apocalypse returned and went about creating some new Horsemen (Sunfire as Famine, some other useless mutant as War, Polaris as Pestilence, and Gambit as Death). The story went to complete crap, and featured one of the abosolute stupidest images I've ever seen: Apocalypse wearing an apron. I think this story may have succeeded in burying Gambit's popularity (and I hope so because I hate him). Gambit and Sunfire ran off and joined up with Sinister. Mike Carey (writer for DC/Vertigo's Lucifer) has taken over the book now, with a team led by Rogue. Her team lineup is Sabretooth, Mystique, Iceman (who may be interested in Mystique...), one of Mastermind's daughters (the blonde one), some other mutant I can't even i.d., and Cable.
Astonishing is just freaking awesome; 'nuff said. Kitty Pryde gets a total badass moment. She also phases through the ceiling after her and Colossus...y'know...*wink wink*
X-Factor has been a standout. Peter David is doing a great job with the writing. The Multiple Man leads a team consisting of Siryn (who is in denial after her father's death), a powerless Richter, Strong Guy, Wolfsbane, M, Quicksilver (the villian of House of M, and in current possession of the Inhumans' Terrigen Mists), and Layla Miller...'who knows stuff' (a character from House of M).

Re: What's been going on???
Tue, January 16, 2007 - 6:20 AMHay... Astounishing X Men and X factor do seem to be leading the way as the best x books so far (for me at least)... The other mutant on Rouge's team is Karima actually a Sentinel. She was in that whole omega sentinel story back in the day and helped Jubileee escape capture from Bastion. I don't know what happened to her after that to bring her to this point. I kind of like rouge's team alot.
Oh then there is Excalibur in England... um... that team is Captian Britian, Dazzler, Nocturne, Juggernaunt, Pete Wisdom and the Black Knight... um.... I don't really like the book.. Also Storm left the Xmen and now she is with her boo the black Panther... oh and there is Civil War IN America between the heroes in American...hahahahahaa...That's all i can think of for right now. -

Re: What's been going on???
Thu, January 18, 2007 - 6:51 AMHmm. So X-Factor is worth checking out, eh? I think any story involving Epoxylips is a story worth avoiding. I also not like gambit too much, chere. Had high hopes for Excalibur. Not enough to check it out, though. I am curious as to how Dazzler was written back into continuity. I'll probably pick up the trades when they become available. -

Re: What's been going on???
Thu, January 18, 2007 - 8:08 AMI think the ultimate reason I hate Gambit is because he always had that stereotyped Cajun accent...
...actually it's because he bagged Rogue.

The current X-Factor story is actually really, really, really good. The team has a good, diverse roster and the storylines are really interesting, if only because they seem to be taking a different route in the "House of M" aftermath.
But, I tend to love women with buzzcuts, so that might be it (Rahne is awesome!)

Fri, January 19, 2007 - 12:22 PMOkay...so what happened to the whole Xavier in Genosha thing w/ Magneto, what happened to Emma and Scott...they die? And Xavier's lost his powers...I want to say again, but I could be wrong? So comlicated. Re: What's been going on???
Sat, January 20, 2007 - 10:37 PMFor Xavier in Genosha check out House of M...Emma and Scott are being headmistress (emphasis on the mistress hisssss...hahahahhaha) and headmaster of Xaviers... I think it is well known by now how Xavier lost his powers but i don't want to give away much check out Xmen Deadly Gensis, it explains alot about what Xavier was doing after house of M and leads into the reasons for what is happening in Uncanny Xmen now. Hope that was of some help...
and yeah X factor keeps getting better and better and Excalibur... I use to love Dazzler back in the 80s.... sigh is all i am gonna say about that book...
